The HOYA Digital Filter Kit II contains 3 main filters in one pack, which are very frequently used in photography. Included in the set are: UV(C) FILTER A UV(C) filter is used to intercept UV light and provides general lens protection. Manufactured with a high quality UV cut and anti-reflective coating applied to both sides. CIRCULAR POLARISATION FILTER (CIR-PL) A circular polarisation filter is a basic filter with a polarisation effect to eliminate unwanted reflections or improve the contrast of celestial and natural objects. NDX8 An ND (neutral density) 8 filter reduces the amount of light by 3 f-stops and corresponds to an 8x slower shutter speed.
By using this filter, it is possible to achieve the effect of blurred movement of water or moving objects despite an open aperture. The Hoya ND 1000 reduces the light by an equivalent of 10 f-stops. ABOUT ND FILTERS Neutral density (ND) filters are the most popular and important type of photographic filter for several reasons. For photographers, ND filters provide precise control over the amount of light that passes through the lens to allow greater creative control over exposure. For video content creators, ND filters are very helpful in setting shutter speeds to adjust the frame rate while maintaining the depth of field of the footage. PROND filters use HOYA's clear optical glass mounted in a lightweight, precision-machined aluminium frame. B+W grey graduated filter 701 The neutral grey half of this graduated filter with a transmittance of 50% (1 f-stop) darkens the relevant subject area by one f-stop without changing the colour. If, for example, the sky is too bright relative to the landscape, this is the ideal value for good cloud detail and to prevent the blue sky from fading due to overexposure. B+W grey graduated filters are often used in landscape photography to avoid overexposing the sky while correctly exposing the ground. The effect of this filter can only be simulated to a very limited extent by electronic image processing, as image information is generally lost in overexposed areas. Half of each filter has a neutral grey tint, with a soft transition to the neutral half of the filter. The rotatable mount enables exact horizontal alignment when the filter is screwed on. The glass substrate of the B+W grey filter 701 is a plane-parallel ground and finely polished filter disc. This guarantees long-lasting high optical quality. The gradient is specially vapour-deposited using thin-film technology. The value given refers to the dark edge area of the filter: - 701 +1 f-stop (50% transmission) The grey graduated filters are provided with a high-quality MRC coating. MRC (Multi Resistant Coating) coated filters have an MC layer that ensures high transmission and maximum anti-reflective properties. Interfering stray light is eliminated, allowing more brilliant colours and higher contrasts to be achieved. Thanks to the low residual reflection, MRC reliably prevents ghost images, which can be caused by back reflection from the sensor surface. Furthermore, MRC protects the filter from scratches by increasing the hardness of the coating, thus preserving the high optical quality. MRC is also dirt and water repellent. Cleaning becomes easier.
